Global Stainless Steel output rises 8.9%

Global stainless steel production rose by 8.9% form a year earlier to 30.9 million tons in the first nine months of 2014, according to the latest data released by the International Stainless Steel Forum (ISSF).
Production increased in all regions except for Central and Eastern Europe, ISSF said.ˇˇˇˇ
Stainless steel production in China totalled 16.02 million tons during January to September period this year, rose 13% from 14.17 million tons in the corresponding period last year.
ˇˇStainless steel production in Asia (w/o China) reached 6.611 million tons during the period, advanced 1.9% compared to 6.487 million tons in the same period last year, data showed.
