Chinese exports of stainless steel in April increase

YIEH reported that according to data from the Chinese customs, China¡¯s exports of stainless steel flat products totaled 196,878 tonne in April, rising by 10.6% from a month ago.
In April, the exports of stainless steel flats to Taiwan increased by 0.6%, those to Korea dropped by 17%, both compared to the figures in a month ago.
In the first 4 months of this year, the country¡¯s exports of stainless steel flat products amounted to 654,855 tonne jumping by 41.9% YoY.
Japanese stainless scrap imports in April up by 13.6%
According to statistics, Japan¡¯s imports of stainless scraps totaled 17,646 tonne in April, rising by 13.6% from a month ago.
In April, the country¡¯s import prices of stainless scraps averaged at USD 3,114.02 per tonne in April, up by 0.9% from March.
Meanwhile, the imports of stainless scrap from Korea increased by 8.4%; those from Taiwan surged by 7.8% and those from China jumped by 44%, all compared to those in a month ago.
